Sports and Community Club Grant funding available!

Sports and Community Club Grant funding available!

Applications are now open for the final round of grant funding for sports clubs and community organisations in Hounslow.

Fusion Lifestyle which operates our gyms, leisure facilities and community venues throughout Hounslow is inviting sports clubs and projects which deliver on the following outcomes:

  • Initiatives aimed at sustaining or increasing participation in sport and physical activity with underrepresented communities
  • Initiatives being delivered in areas of Hounslow, especially those with lower levels of participation: South Isleworth, Hanworth Park, Cranford, Heston West and Bedfont
  • Increased uptake of physical activity and positive healthy life changing behaviours. In other words, regular participation in physical activity, sport or active travel (walking and cycling)

Grants of between £500 - £2000 are being made available with a deadline for applications: 6th May.

The activities and projects must take place between June – November 2017 with a clear need for the project, demonstrable outcomes being outlined in the application, and also a clear plan how the activity will continue post funding.

Clubs and/or organisations are expected to show how they are engaging effectively with residents and display how they are overcoming barriers to participation. However, the grant will not fund 100% of the project.

Vice Chair of Chiswick Area Forum and “Chiswick Champion” Councillor Peter Thompson (Turnham Green) said,

“This is a fantastic opportunity for clubs and organisations throughout Chiswick to increase participation in sport and physical activity, and to encourage sports clubs to reach out more to underrepresented communities.

With the weather changing and the days getting longer, there is no excuse in “having some fun in the sun” and enjoying the benefits of a healthy lifestyle!”
