John Todd moved to Chiswick with his family in June 1985 and has been a Councillor since May 2006 for the London Borough of Hounslow, representing the Chiswick Homefields Ward. During his period as a Councillor John has chaired the Pension Fund Panel, actively involved himself in Hounslow Council’s Audit Work, Overview and Scrutiny Committee, the Planning Committee, Chiswick Area Forum and others.
John has built a reputation of responding promptly to constituents and businesses alike and getting things done. He is a robust researcher and effectively challenges the current Labour administration in diverse ways, with his most recent campaign to save the Hogarth Youth Club.
I grew up in Paddington, escaping from a bleak inner-city upbringing by passing the 11`+ and attending St Marylebone Grammar School (a school since destroyed by Shirley Williams). The teaching was so good that I got a place at Exeter University and studied Politics, Government and Geography.
Upon moving to Chiswick, I fell in love with the community - there is a real sense of living in a village yet also being part of the greatest city in the world. Since being elected to represent you in 2004, it has been a real privilege to serve as one of your three ward Councillors for Homefields on Hounslow Council.
I am particularly committed to Chiswick, by maintaining the character of this very special area that we live in and by continuing to provide assistance to residents with the very many issues that affect their daily lives.
